A place in Shrewsbury to play, create and connect – without the pressure to fit in.
Spectrum is a community gaming and creative space designed to be welcoming, low-pressure and accessible — especially for people who find typical social venues overwhelming.
A new kind of community space for Shrewsbury
Spectrum is a new community gaming and creative space being built in Shrewsbury.
It’s designed to be welcoming, low-pressure and accessible, especially for people who find typical social spaces overwhelming or difficult to navigate.
The goal is simple: create a place where people can play games, be creative, meet others and feel comfortable being themselves.
Gaming
Board games, trading card games, role-playing games and casual play sessions where people can drop in and enjoy gaming together.
Creativity
Workshops, creative sessions and opportunities for people to make, learn and explore new interests in a relaxed environment.
Community
A welcoming environment where people can meet others, build friendships and take part in events without the pressure often found in typical social venues.
Why Spectrum Matters
When Shrewsbury’s previous gaming venue closed, many people quietly lost the one place where they felt comfortable turning up, playing games, and meeting others.
For some, it wasn’t just a hobby space. It was a routine, a community, and somewhere they could relax without feeling out of place.
Spectrum aims to rebuild that sense of belonging by creating a permanent space in Shrewsbury for gaming, creativity and community.
What you’ll find at Spectrum
Spectrum is designed to be a flexible community space where different activities can run side by side.
Some people might come for tournaments or organised events, others might drop in for a casual game, a creative session, or simply to spend time in a comfortable environment with people who share their interests.
The goal is to create a place where people can take part in community activities at their own pace.
- Trading card game tournaments and casual play
- Tabletop role-playing games like Dungeons & Dragons
- Board game nights and community gaming sessions
- Creative workshops and hobby meetups
- A welcoming environment designed to be comfortable and accessible
